Who We Are
St. Joseph AME Church is one of the leading and oldest congregations in Durham, NC. Founded in 1869, as part of the world-wide African Methodist Episcopal Church, the congregation formerly worshiped at what is now the Hayti Cultural Arts Center. Our current church is located at 2521 Fayetteville Street, only blocks from NCCU. Our 32nd pastor is Reverend Abdue Knox.
What We Do
St. Joseph AME Church shares the mission and love of Jesus by engaging in gospel-based worship, community service, serving the needy, and seeking to empower each individual to reach their God-given potential.
