Volunteer: Intake Technician

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Intake Technician. As part of our Ship Outreach team, you are the first point of contact for new clients, and gathering vital information. You will accurately document the client’s history, current needs, all relevant information, and emergency contact information before placing them in our scheduling system and directing them to the appropriate
department or office. You must have strong communication skills, experience with accurate data entry,
and compassion to assist those in need.
Responsibilities for Program Assistant
• Act as the primary contact for program procedures and policies
• Represent the business for program-related matters
• Correspond with upper management regarding goals and objectives of programs
• Carry out administrative tasks as required to facilitate an efficient working environment
• Communicate and negotiate with clients, customers and supervisors
• Ensure business operations and efforts are always favorable to the business objective
• Perform additional tasks as may be required by superiors
• Answer phone calls and customer or client inquiries


Qualifications 
• Prior experience working as an intake in a relevant field
• Proficient with computer technology and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Professional and pleasant demeanor to meet with clients and customers
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Sharp attention to detail with an extraordinary ability to multitask
• Reliable and diligent worker
• Able to sit, stand and move around for long hours at a time

•                Keep counts of customers daily.

•                Order inventory when needed. Plan accordingly for fewer shopping trips or deliveries.

•                Organize products by expiration date and check monthly to remove expired items.

•                Work with NC State Snap-Ed to provide tastings, nutrition classes, meal bundles, signs and healthy products.

•                Accurately ring up, input and track inventory.

•                Advertise in the neighborhood

•                Sort and deal with mail that comes to the store.

The Homework Club provides free tutoring for school-aged children grades 1-12. Volunteers help students with various subjects, homework assignments, and test preparation.
