W.G. Pearson Magnet Elementary School is excited to invite NCCU students to participate in a math tutoring partnership supporting 4th and 5th grade students during the spring semester.
This opportunity is ideal for students interested in education, mathematics, psychology, social work, public service, or community engagement, and for those seeking service hours, field experience, work-study hours, or meaningful volunteer experience.
What You’ll Do:
Tutor small groups (1–3 students) in grades 4–5 math
Support skills such as number sense, fractions, problem-solving, and math confidence
Follow teacher-provided focus areas (“work-ons”) — no lesson planning required
Build positive relationships with elementary students in a supportive school setting

Days: Mondays & Wednesdays
Time: TBA
Location: W.G. Pearson Elementary School (Durham)
