Responsible for providing technical assistance to NCCU students.

Assist with purchasing food for the Five Fish and Three Loaves' Project that feeds the homeless at Church

Assist with loading and unloading food at the Food Bank and at the Church

Assist with providing food for homeless individuals that enter the Church every fourth Thursday of the month starting at 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm 

Assist with restocking the pantry from food donated and from Community Garden- Mount Haven Community Garden and the Church altar 

Students will engage with k-12 students and teach citizen science.

Student helpers will be assisting with various activities within the Student-Athlete Academic Support Services office throughout the year. Dates and times are fluid. 

NABA Student Organization offers tutoring to students on an ongoing basis.

The CSB department will host several STEM events and need student volunteers; preferably Computer Science and Business students.

The first event will be held on October 13th from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Location:  TBD

Other events will be listed at a later date.  

They provide leadership and mentoring for their Aspiring Eagles Academy mentees. This group includes 8 students per mentor. 

This program is sponsored by Google Fiber and is known as the "Google Fiber Community Leaders Program." Students provide community outreach by participating in community events and digital outreach activities. Students participate in projects including but not limited to digital literacy for underserved areas in Durham, provide training to local middle schools and survey businesses around NCCU to assist with getting those businesses more online. Students apply and are approved for the program on a year to year basis.

The Max hours per day is 8

Volunteers needed to support mentoring and community development initiatives in Durham. Flexible hours and include individual and group activities. Program targets youth age 10 to 15 years of age.

Collegiate scholarship program for Stop Hunger Now - Students are required to collaborate with Marketing departments/schools/community to present future business plans.  All funds received are used for scholarships opportunities for students in business or related field.

The costuming assistant works one-on-one with the Department's Costumer, Ms. Pamela Bond.  Duties may included but are not limited to designing, building, altering, and organizing costumes as well as assisting actors with costume changes during shows.

Students will mentor/tutor K-3rd graders at local Durham Public School District elementary schools. All tutors or volunteers must complete a free criminal background check volunteer application via Durham Public School (DPS) website.

Student must attend brief mandatory orientation with the Office of Community Engagement and Service and be place with one of six DPS.

Student will be responsible for hosting a 2 - 3 hour show on AudioNet at least once a week.   Responsibilities include reading news, researching and interviewing guests, providing campus updates, reading and writing public service announcements.  Students will also be required to promote the station on social media, and create other promotional materials i.e. flyers for their show.  

The ReStore uses volunteers to help operate the store on a daily basis.

Volunteer activities are designed to contribute to our daily operations, enhance our store quality, and increase the satisfaction level of our donors and customers.  Typical volunteer activities include: processing donations, arranging sales items, performing special projects, cleaning, clerical work and assisting customers.  These tasks increase ReStore sales, therefore increasing the amount of money we provide to our Habitat affiliates (Durham County and Orange County), which in turn leads to more homes for deserving families in our local community.

Theatre Production includes working on a production in any area or aspect including but not limited to design, set construction, stage lighting, sound, stage management, house management. 

Ushers are needed for theatrical productions for the Department of Theatre & Dance. 

We are looking for 2-3 volunteers for the PALs youth basketball league. We need scorekeepers and a concession stand host.

They provided leadership and mentoring to their Eagles in Flight Squads (to include 15-20 students per squad)

The attending monthly Leadership Development Meetings with the Executive Director

They provide weekly updates, reminders and success strategies to their Squads via email and Group Me Chats

They meet with their Squads and facilitate student engagement during our monthly Community Meetings

Campus Echo staff. Duties may include writing and reporting on campus news, sports arts and opinion writing. Duties may also include photography, videography and online web production. General office assistants also needed.

WE TRAIN IN ALL DEPARTMENTS!

Students are needed to assist in advertising for the Department of Theatre and Dance upcoming shows.

R.N. Harris need volunteers to tutor and mentor K-5 students.

For students with radio production interest and skills, responsibilities may also include: reading and writing public service announcements, news, researching and interviewing guests, providing community updates via social media and for on-air.  Students may also create ideas and designs for promotional material to promote WNCU.  

The library page position works with the Music Librarian to shelve materials within the library.
