Who We Are

NCCU Office of Community Engagement and Service assists students, faculty/staff and community partners to create and manage engagement opportunities. All undergraduate students (full-time and transfer) are required to complete 15 community engagement hours each fall and spring semester they are enrolled at NCCU from the date of admission or re-admission to the university.

The Office of Community Engagement also sponsors a fundraising event each year hosted by the spouse of the Chancellor that supports campus and community endeavors. We welcome your attendance and support. If you want to financially support any of our community work, go to https://www.nccu.edu/institutional-advancement/giving-online. Please select I want to support Community Engagement and Service.

What We Do

The program is structured to document student involvement in direct service, service learning course activities, community based research, advocacy and military service.

For students, activities include registration, placement, follow-up and reflections; for agencies, they involve preview and approval, registration, monitoring and evaluation; and for faculty and staff, they are orientation, service learning training, technical support and coordination.
