R. N. Harris Elementary School

R.N. Harris is an Integrated Arts/Core Knowledge Magnet School named after Mr. Rencher Nicholas who became the first African American elected to the Durham city council in 1953. We are an elementary school with an enrollment of 331 in grades Pre K thru 5. We are focused on improving academic achievement for all students and committed to ensuring that all students graduate from high school prepared for college, careers and become lifelong learners.

At R.N. Harris we strive daily to help students reach their fullest potential. Our school incorporates core knowledge as well as A+integrated arts lessons.

At Harris we believe knowledge is power and we are seeking numerous volunteers/work study students willing to help our students "Push it to the Limit."
