Who We Are

The NCCU Campus Pantry

Our Mission

The NCCU Campus Pantry is a free resource dedicated to supporting all members of the NCCU community (students, faculty, and staff) —by providing essential nutritional assistance to those facing food insecurity.

Our Vision

To eliminate food insecurity and ensure that every individual has access to the essential resources necessary for success in their academic and professional endeavors.

Our History

North Carolina Central University was one of the first institutions in the UNC System to establish a food pantry. The initiative was inspired by NCCU alumna Ms. Debra Taylor, a Technical Writer at IBM, who recognized the need for a campus-based resource to address food insecurity.

The NCCU Campus Pantry officially opened its doors in March 2014 and has since been a vital support system for the campus community. Serving an average of 125 students per week, the pantry continues to provide much-needed assistance to those in need.

Location & Hour

The Campus Pantry is open weekly in the Miller Morgan Building, Room 204C, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm.

What We Do

The NCCU Campus Pantry offers food and service referrals to all members of the NCCU campus community. This is mainly done through operation of the on campus Pantry location.
