Who We Are
The Fayetteville Street Group, Inc. is a Durham-based nonprofit that has served the historic Fayetteville Street corridor for more than 25 years. We work alongside residents, students, and community partners to support food access, financial stability, and neighborhood well-being.
Our mission is rooted in equity, community-driven solutions, and economic recovery. Through programs supported by public investment, we focus on reducing barriers that impact student success—such as food insecurity and limited access to financial education—while creating opportunities for leadership, service, and community connection.
By partnering with local institutions, including HBCUs, we help connect students to resources, volunteer opportunities, and practical skills that support both short-term needs and long-term financial independence.
We believe strong communities are built when students, residents, and organizations work together to create inclusive, sustainable solutions that benefit everyone.
