Dear Life Changer,
Purpose Learning Lab is excited to announce our upcoming NC State Fair Field Trip, and we need your help to make it an unforgettable experience for our students! We’re looking for passionate and responsible volunteers to assist during the trip as chaperones, activity leaders, and helpers.
Details:
- Date: 10/25/24
- Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Location: NC State Fairgrounds, Raleigh, NC
- Meeting Place: Purpose Learning Lab 800 Elmira Avenue Durham, NC 27707 (we will travel together by bus)
Volunteer Roles:
Chaperones:
- Supervise small groups of students to ensure safety and encourage participation in activities.
- Assist with transitions between fair attractions and monitor student behavior.
Activity Leaders:
- Help facilitate fun, educational activities at the fair (games, STEM demonstrations, etc.).
- Engage students in discussions about exhibits and help them make the most of their experience.
Logistics Helpers:
- Assist with coordinating snack/lunch breaks and ensuring children’s belongings are organized.
- Help staff with check-in, headcounts, and general coordination throughout the day.

- Experience the Fair: As a volunteer, you’ll get to enjoy the fair while guiding our students through various exhibits and activities.

Volunteer Requirements:
- Availability: We need volunteers who can commit from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (or part of the day, if needed).
- Safety First: All volunteers must complete a brief safety training before the trip.
- Positive Attitude: We’re looking for volunteers who enjoy working with children and can help them engage in the learning opportunities the fair offers.
