EOG Tutor – Purpose Learning Lab, Inc.
Purpose Learning Lab, Inc. is seeking dedicated and results-driven EOG Tutors to support students in preparing for End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments. Tutors will play a critical role in helping scholars strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and improve overall test performance in a supportive, STREAM-infused learning environment.
Position Overview
The EOG Tutor will provide targeted instruction in Reading and/or Math, using data-driven strategies to close learning gaps and reinforce grade-level standards. Tutors will work with small groups or one-on-one to ensure students are equipped with the tools and strategies needed to succeed on standardized assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction focused on EOG preparation
- Identify student learning gaps and tailor instruction accordingly
- Support students with test-taking strategies, comprehension, and problem-solving skills
- Track student progress and provide feedback to leadership and families
- Create a positive, encouraging environment that builds confidence and reduces test anxiety
- Collaborate with staff to align tutoring with overall academic goals
Qualifications
- Experience in tutoring or teaching (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of NC EOG standards in Reading and/or Math
- Ability to work with elementary and middle school students
- Strong communication, patience, and classroom management skills
- Passion for youth development and academic success
Schedule
- Typically Tuesdays & Thursdays (EOG Prep Days)
- Afterschool hours (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
- Additional opportunities during camps and Saturday Academy
