Volunteer with MAAME at the 3rd Annual Run, Walk & Stroll
Join us on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Shepard Middle Magnet School in Durham, NC for the MAAME, Inc. 3rd Annual Run, Walk & Stroll for Birth Justice — a community celebration of Black maternal health, family, and the village that makes it all possible.
We need 20 volunteers to help make this day happen. Whether you're greeting families at the welcome arch, cheering runners at the finish line, supporting our wellness tent, or keeping the kid zone energized — every role matters.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Event registration and participant check-in
- Walk and run route monitoring
- Wellness tent and lactation lounge support
- Community resource fair and doula meet-and-greet
- Kid zone activities, bounce house supervision, and storytime
- Honor Corner
- Photography and social media
- Setup, breakdown, and site support
Shifts begin as early as 7:00 AM and wrap by 12:00 PM. Most volunteer shifts run between 7:30 AM and 12:00 PM
A volunteer check-in meeting may take place virtually on Friday, 24 at 5pm. Details will be emailed.
