Hi Eagles - So here's like a pop-up volunteer opportunity, if you're interested. Every year, StrongHER TogetHER has our annual welcome picnic for the girls, their families, our volunteers and leaders, past and present. It's kinda like a homecoming thing. This year, the picnic is on 9/19 11:30am-1:30pm. We usually have about 130-150 people in attendance. Every year, our families and leaders sign up to be a part of various teams that do things for the picnic, ie the food team, the fun and games team, the clean up team, the shirt sales team, etc. This year, we are in pretty good shape, but in all honestly, there are two areas that could use a hand.
First, the food team. We need help in putting our food plans together, some of which are IP. Plus getting in the weeds of details like beverages, plates, napkins, cups, utensils, tablecloths, desserts AND setting up a service team that can be at the tables during the picnic, etc. Right now, this team has 2-3 people on it and we probably need more like 5. So this is one area where you could help us.
But if you're looking for a bigger one shot opportunity to get all your volunteer hours in, we would love to experiment with. bringing you on to lead the coordination of the picnic and each of these teams to be sure the day goes off without a hitch. To do this one, you have to be a great communicator, a detail person and basically have some event-planner vibes. tbh, we've never put picnic leadership out there as an option for a student volunteer opportunity before, but hey...why not? If this sounds like something you'd like to do, give a shout and we can share more and see if it's a fit. But don't delay...because our picnic is 5 weeks away! We have made great headway on the planning, but the next 5 weeks will be busy to be sure we're ready for a fun day on 9/19.
