Join us for our 16th Annual Toy Drive as we bring joy to children during the holiday season. Our goal is to deliver a little bit of joy to make hearts smile this holiday season. We invite you to help us make an impact in our community by volunteering at Purpose Learning Lab, Inc. We are cultivating future coders, scientist, artists, entrepreneurs, chefs, social workers, teachers, lawyers, and essential workers who dream of changing the world with their ideas. We invite you to become a volunteer & change a life. Our goal is to create pathways that ignite confidence, encourage hands-on innovation, and prepare students to pursue STEM & Integrated Arts careers.
Over the past 16 years, the Founder of Purpose Learning Lab, Mya McMillian has kepted her promise to operate a toy drive to pour into the hearts of youth. Her passion to serve the community derives from surviving childhood abuse and trauma. As a survivor, she strives to invest in youth, children, and families through education, wellness, and mentorship to create agents of change. Above all, she illuminates strength and believes in the power to make things happen and produce change. Together, Toys for Tots, the community of Durham, and several partners were able to surpass their goals of 10,000 toys for children over the past 16 years. This year our Assistant Director, Saiquanza Outlaw & Outreach Director Twanda Whitten Founder of YANA (You Are Not Alone) will be handling all of our outreach events. Our Expectations
We believe in the power to make things happen and produce change. During this event, we will work together to sort toys to give to less fortunate children. Our goals is to ensure that children receive a toy during the holiday season. We will work hand in hand to sort gifts.

Volunteer Overview:
Volunteers must be able to do the following:
- Should be comfortable working one-on-one with others
- Strong commitment to community service
- Ability to work well with a diverse population of people
- Must have reliable transportation

- In the spirit of being a good neighbor and protecting our volunteers and staff, we are requiring anyone who volunteers with us on site or in person to be vaccinated and/or show proof of negative COVID19 results.
- We are also requiring staff and volunteers to wear masks indoors
