Join Red Cross volunteers and members of your Durham community for Sound the Alarm! Did you know, fire experts agree that you may have as little as two minutes to escape a burning home
before it’s too late to get out. A working smoke alarm can cut the risk of dying in a home fire by half.
On Saturday, March 9th, join us as we install FREE smoke alarms in homes that need them. Every volunteer will be placed on a team. Each team consists of an installer, an educator to share fire safety with the home owners, a documenter and possibly a translator. Our goal is to install 500 alarms in one day! All training is provided during the event. Food, fun and free t-shirts will be shared throughout the day. We hope you will join us!
