What is an Advocate?
Advocates are volunteers at CEF who meet directly with Members (individuals who join CEF to seek out resources mainly related to financial instability and housing). All Advocates are expected to hold 2 hours per week and serve as volunteers for at least 2 years, as well as help support various events we will hold throughout the year for Members and Advocates (check out our Instagram @communityef to see our past events!). There will also be leadership opportunities later in the year (TBD).
What is the application process like?
Applications will open on August 12th and close on August 26th. Once you submit your application, staff will review it and reach back out to you to schedule an interview. After interviews, you will be informed as to if you were or were not selected as a new Advocate. From there, there will be various trainings you will be required to participate in to prepare you for your new role!
What can I receive service hours for?
You will be able to receive service hours anytime you come in for a meeting or when you volunteer at/attend any of our events!
Where can I access the application when it opens?
You may access the application on our Instagram bio (@communityef) or check out our website, https://communityempowermentfund.org/be-an-advocate/.
