Students will have the opportunity to learn the importance of CPR and how to respond in emergencies. Below are the learning objectives participants will achieve:
- Describe the difference between sudden cardiac arrest and other common medical emergencies (such as heart attack, stroke, choking, and suspected opioid overdose), including key signs and when immediate action is needed.
- Apply the following skills to Save-A-Life - call 911 first, then push hard and fast in the center of the chest — and explain when use of an AED or additional first-aid actions (e.g., Naloxone for opioid overdose or choking relief techniques).
- \Become confident in recognizing an emergency, initiating Hands-Only CPR, and activating the emergency response system while waiting for professional responders to arrive on the scene.
