The Durham Center for Senior Life is looking for personable, welcoming, and detail oriented volunteers to assist with minor administrative tasks, answering phones, and checking participants in at our main reception desk during evening hours on Thursdays.
Our center's main reception entrance and free parking lot is located at 131 Hunt Street in downtown Durham. The afternoon receptionist or Program and Volunteer Coordinator will greet you and explain the tasks for the evening. During your shift, you will be greeting members who arrive, answering phones, and assisting with our check-in system. We will walk you through everything at your first shift and will be available if you have questions at any time. You are welcome to bring a book or schoolwork, and we do have free public Wi-Fi if you bring a personal device, though we ask you not to wear earbuds or headphones during your shift.
